Exhibit: City Self Portrait Milwaukee

Friday, December 01, 2017
East
A city is not the buildings but the people.
City Self-Portrait is a community collaborative art project led by artist Jessica Mailhot. Jessica painted different scenes of the city on site (usually iconic Milwaukee landmarks or events) with a sign that invited any passerby to contribute. Each painting is titled with the number of people who added to that particular painting. The exhibit brings together people of all ages and backgrounds to advocate creativity, agency, and community.
