Romance readers, seasoned and new to the genre, are invited to join the Milwaukee Public Library Romance Readers Book Club. We'll explore different subgenres and diverse voices, meeting every other month.
You won't want to miss the annual Open Mic Poetry event at East Library! The first hour will be to gather, visit and write. Then local poet Kavon Cortez Jones will take the stage to host the open mic! Light refreshments will be served.
How can we find inner peace and maintain a positive mindset when our times appear so troubled? If we learn to investigate and understand our mind through contemplation and meditation, we can learn how to view ourselves, others, and the world differently so that we can be peaceful even in in the most troubled times.

Relax and puzzle your way through Wednesday morning in the beautiful East Branch Community Room. Crosswords, jigsaw puzzles, adult coloring supplies, and a beverage will be provided.
Your Milwaukee Public Library invites you and your families
to have a FREE family photo taken in celebration of National Library Week,
April 7-13, 2024! Families and individuals can capture this moment in time with
their loved ones. Reservations are required. Each family will receive a
7-8-minute photo session with a professional photographer, and a digital copy
of their family portrait. Please keep in mind that space is limited and will go
fast - reserve your session ASAP! Limited to one registration per group. There
is a minimum of two and a max of six people (immediate family) for your photo
session. Please arrive 5-7 minutes early for your appointment. No library card
is required. Photos are for personal use only. Please refrain from bringing
props, logos, or other items for promotional purposes. Each photo session is
7-8 minutes long. The registrant will be emailed 2-3 photos before the end of
April. If you're unable to attend, please cancel your appointment to allow
another family to have your time slot.

Join us at the library for a neighborhood walk. Walks will begin at the East Branch and take a 1.5 to 2 mile loop through the neighborhood, rain or shine, and will use ADA accessible routes. People of all ages and abilities are welcome, including stroller users! Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Water and a light snack are provided. All participants will need to sign a physical liability release form. Wednesdays, 11:30 am-1 pm; April 17, May 1, May 15, May 29.

The Milwaukee Justice Center can help with legal advice for issues
including landlord/tenant, eviction and eviction records, small claims,
debt/collections, probate, guardianship, divorce, child
custody/placement, child support, and pardons/expungement. (Advice not
provided for open/pending criminal cases, only post-conviction issues.)
Babies, toddlers, and preschoolers are invited to drop-in and play with sensory toys and activities. Recommended for children 6 months to 5 years old with a caregiver.
