(re) Visions: words into pictures, pictures into words is the collaborative work of Karen Peugh, photographer, and CJ Muchhala, poet. In this exhibit of 11 photographs and 10 poems, the photographs paired with poems are not meant to be illustrative, just as the poems written in response to the photographs are not intended to be descriptive. The intent is to explore the intersection of visual and literary art, and to expand the meaning of both images and words on a variety of subjects, from humans’ interactions with Lake Michigan and a child’s view of her grandmother, to pinned fabric pieces and found sidewalk art.
A 20-minute story time for young children is followed by open play time. Story time includes plenty of fingerplays, songs, and other activities that help little ones learn. For children ages 3 and under, with a caregiver.

Let’s eat! Snack Hack explores the world of food through cooking demonstrations that focus on nutritional elements, food groups, cooking principles, and the history of food. Learn how food is grown, the cultural connections to what we eat, how food works in our bodies, and how to prepare meals at home, as well as the differences between vitamins and minerals, braising and sautéing, and fiber and protein. Snack Hack also reveals the culinary world through library resources. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy eating snacks created each week. All supplies will be provided.

The MKE Mobile Crisis
team will have a resource table to distribute harm reduction materials,
including Narcan,
fentanyl testing strips, and medication lock bags.
Career Navigators in the Worker Connection Program will host a table to promote their services and resources. Career Navigators will also assist patrons with creating their resumes and job searches. They will provide hands-on services by guiding patrons through the navigation system of employment.

run? Take a fun look at computer science and learn problem-solving
skills and creativity through the “Hour of Code” website code.org. A
one-hour introduction to computer science and the basics of
coding. For ages 9 – 12 years old.
Sit down with an experienced tutor for help with English. Work on reading, writing, listening and speaking skills with a tutor who is encouraging and supportive. Tutors can also help all adult learners with test prep, basic reading, or computer skills. No appointment necessary.

Rain barrels capture rainwater from your roof that you can use later when it's dry for thirsty gardens. They also help prevent rain from becoming polluted stormwater runoff, the biggest remaining threat to clean rivers and our Great Lakes.

The approval of a Bitcoin ETF has legitimized cryptocurrency like never before and there are questions about how this will affect the future of digital currency. The purpose of the program is to increase knowledge of the current state of cryptocurrency and future possibilities. Participants will also get information on the various ways to self-custody their cryptocurrency.
